Welcome to BS35 Basketball 〰️

Julian and I would like to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting and sending your child to the BS35 Basketball Clinic.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again from June 17-June 20 of 2024.

It takes a village to do something like this and we couldn’t of done it without the help of our donors, Hall Neighborhood House and you.

This was truly a special group and we will always remember them.

The future is in good hands.

Each day of the clinic we focused on a specific word of the day to ensure that each attendee was able to take some tidbits of knowledge home with them. Here are some of the life lessons/words that we taught this past week:

Practice doesn’t make perfect. Rather, PRACTICE MAKES IMPROVEMENT.

There’s no such thing as a perfect person or a perfect player. We can always better our best. Perfection is an unattainable goal so let’s change that old mantra and replace it with something realistic.
PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Every detail matters in the game of basketball and in the game of life. By taking time to focus, breathe and take note of what we must do to succeed, we move closer to our goals. Additionally, the journey toward our goals is just as important (if not more important) than the goal itself.

1. Have CONFIDENCE in your COMPETENCE.

At some point in your life and playing career, you’ll feel like you don’t belong. Believe in yourself and in your ability to do anything. Have confidence in your skill set, understand that you belong and trust your work.

2. Everything serves a PURPOSE.

Whether it’s listening to your parents, doing two ball dribbling drills, holding your follow through on your jumpshot or giving a firm handshake, everything in life has some level of meaning. The sooner we understand that, the more prepared we’ll be for every situation that comes our way.

3. Protect your PEACE.

The world is full of chaos but the basketball court should be our metaphorical sanctuary. So, whatever you do, try to preserve the sanctity of the spaces you occupy. The same mentality can be applied to your home, your office or your body.
Protect your peace and promote peace at all times.
